Personaly, I prefer to call on the name of JAHESHUA MISCHAJAH. Much more original.
Peace to you all.
i have wondered lately, why there is soooo much controvery in the 'pronunciation' or spelling of god's name jehovah.
to my knowledge, i haven't heard of any 'question' on jesus christs name, meaning or spelling.
why if he's the almighty god, is there a question to his name meaning and spelling, and not his son's?.

below are thoughts from the posted web site... i am interested in how those who put full faith in the scientific method would answer.. can the existence of god be proved through scientific inquiry?
can playing the board game monopoly prove whether charles darrow or lizzie magie invented the game?
can assembling a puzzle of the mona lisa prove the existence of leonardo da vinci?
We cab choose to believe or not but only 'God' can prove his own existence to humans. So the amount of debate about whether he exists, proves that either:
He does not have the ability to prove his existence.
He does not exist outside of believers minds.
He has decided that humans are not worth proving his existence to.
He prefers to keep us guessing because he's shy.
There are other possibilities but in his continued absence we can only surmise.

are we angry atheists?.
.. if we are angry, christians will see this as a sign we are god haters.
In the past I have felt anger towards 'God.' But as the original quote points out, it's not possible to be angry with a god that doesn't exist. So once I realized the god of the Israelites and the god of the Muslims was invented by man, my anger vanished.
To clarify, I don't believe in the god of the bible, his superhuman son, or even Superman himself. This does not mean I have ruled out the possibility that the universe is aware of its own existence and evolves intelligently. Whether that amounts to 'God,' is for all you 'God squad' experts on the forum to access.

I don't wish to conquer - just to amuse myself.
Not only have I have won my freedom from slavery - I have become Caesar.

caveat, many atheists, like LeavingWT are not like this at all.
He doesn't appear to be but behind the polite persona there is a passive aggressiveness below the surface.
this has been going around in my head recently, after reading a post by aguest i believe, what are they?.
i mean this seriously.. those of you who are athiests, you are free to answer, but i do believe in god and in jesus, so one really should answer with the assumption that they are real, even if you don't believe that, please humor me and offer a logical thought based on that assumption.. 2 timothy 3:16,17 - probably every witness can quote that by heart and would probably assume it meant the bible ... but does it?.
the bible didn't exist at the time paul wrote his letters.
Scriptures are any non evidential text that people in authority choose to take seriously and decree to be Holy.
People in high places even get to add a capital 'H' to Holy just to give it The Divine Seal of Approval.
Don't ya just love magic - and all that jazz.

Beautiful analogy that thinking Christians should be able to wrap their minds around!
Jesus has their minds wrapped around Him - He's all loved up!

Anger is often the preserve of the Christian. Sometimes their condescending attitude can be the cause of anger. Last month a thin lipped lady knocked on my door collecting for a 'Christian charity.'
I told her the name of the charity that I give money to every month by direct debit, it's a local hospice for cancer patients.
'But this is a Christian charity.' She insisted.
'That is precisely why I don't wish to make a donation.' I said
'Oh, you're a non-believer.' She sneered.
'I like to give to charity because I am a good person, not because I want something from Jesus.' I replied
She left shaking with anger. For my part I was amused by her judgmental attitude.
we are celebrating xmas this year for the first time.
it's kinda weird because, even though we're doing a xmas tree, decorations, gifts, we're more or less taking the christ out of christmas.
so how about the rest of you non-christian heathens?.
I like the parties, mostly. I like the music, I like the lights...
I love all that too, but I find it hard hear Jesus talking to me above the noise.
Still, I can guess what he was saying, everybody else does!
undercover talks a lot of sense.
And after waiting around at an airport getting bored, I find a warm hand reassuring me that 'my junk' is still in place, quite comforting.
They are doing it for my own good but if they knew I was comforted by it, they would arrest me and subject me to more stringent examination!
